It just doesn't get any better (than free).

Saw an Ariens Deluxe 27 on Craigslist and was reading the three sentence description when I got to the end and it said "just come get it". I quick looked at the top of the page and it was listed under FREE !! It had been up for 12 minutes and I quick fired off a reply to the person saying I'd be very happy to come get it today at their convenience.

Even at 12 minutes I figured I'd be too late but no, cut to the chase it's in my yard !! It's a 2010 Deluxe 27 that even had the chute clean out tool still attached. To look into the auger and impeller housing you can barely tell it's been used and there are almost no signs of use in the chute ?? Gas smelled odd but not that 1950s boat house stuff where you know it's turned to varnish. So it's not running and the tires need to be checked over as they were flat.

Am I a happy camper.

AND, with a little fresh gas and a few tries pulling it over and finally using the electric start it fired up and runs nicely. Tried the gears and it has forward and reverse and the headlight even works.
Headlight isn't showing up that well, was on idle.

Wow.

When I pulled up the house had a for sale and sold sign on it so it might have been left behind ?? I didn't ask, I just grabbed it. I don't know if I was talking to the house seller or the new buyer. If it was the buyer he must have a service or a seven grand Honda hybrid to give this away. I figured I was stealing it and I sure didn't want to give him time to rethink his decision. I'm still just giddy with it and even the GF gave her vote of approval.

Might have to clean up the old Troy and put it up on Craigslist this fall.

That's funny. This lady had a 828 that she had for wrap around deck for years and she was fed up with trying to handle it , So she asked me to do the deck for her. It took about an hour and a half. After i was done she said go ahead and take it, I'm tired of messing with it.

I didn't ask any questions and brought it home. surprisingly nice machine for age.
