Some thermometer collector will probably buy it as old outdoor thermometers are a collectors dream.

.

The cool stuff always appreciates

If a late 60's Hemi in good original condition can be had FOR LESS THAN what it sold for when new then something is very wrong with the Seller

.

1979 Toro 5/24 38040 (now a 6.5/24)
1983 Craftsman FF20 plow tractor

Thats a nice thermometer, maybe even made in the USA if old enough.

OVERPOWERED is usually Adequate

I bet that is worth $75 to someone..
Vintage signs and things like that have a strong demand and collector value..

There are many things worth more now than when they were new..
Let me know where I can find a pristine 1965 Ford Mustang for $2,000.

Finding a motomower snow shark in any condition on this side of the St. Lawrence seaway would be worth the time to install Yamaha V twin on it vertically and a top auger cover to reduce the snow spray.

Garage
I can only find one other and it looks worse and is selling for the same price (more with shipping) https://www.ebay.com/itm/ANTIQUE-TOR...hEoN:rk:2:pf:0

Maybe this is a thing, or the craigslist guy got inspiration for pricing from the eBay guy or vice versa

That is 70's to early 80's when that was made. which back then maybe cost 10 Bucks at the most. I wonder if it is even still calibrated right. I am just saying I would not pay that much 4 it even with the TORO Name on it. you can go to any big box store and get a thermometer with the red liquid in it. that is far more accurate than the coil set up they use in that for way less money. and that is all the MORE I AM SAYING ON THIS 1.
