Toro push mower help

I have an old Toro push mower with a B&S 190cc motor The last two times I mowed my lawn the mower is almost completely out of oil in less than an hour. I religiously check the dipstick before I mow each time, there are no leaks that I can see, and no smoke while I mow. Of course the mower sounds pretty bad at this point. I am pretty sure there is some internal damage from the sounds of things, I have not had time to take some things apart and take a look but there is visible damage to the dipstick so I will need to pull out a different mower for next week.

My question is, where is the oil going? Usually I see a leak or smoke if there is some type of issue but there were no warning signs this time.

If it is not leaking it. it is being burned up.

if its not smoking it has to be leaking it somewhere. try topping it up and running it on some pavement or plywood for a few minutes to see if you can find a leak. it cant just be disappearing without a trace.

I have tried running it on concrete and it sits on a concrete floor and there is definitely nothing leaking. I agree it must be burning up, I am just not seeing any smoke so I was just curious how that is happening.

have you tried pulling the spark plug to see how it looks? that really seems like a lot of oil to burn without having the engine smoke. i doubt it will really help you at this point but i have been thinking about start running motorkote in my small engines once i see how much i have leftover after fixing the cam in my truck. suppose to coat things to prevent wear inside the engine. might be worth looking into if you have to buy a new mower or engine.

I have not had time to even pull the spark plug and really start looking at it. I will just use a different mower until I get a chance. As you all have said it should be smoking if it is not leaking but there is not a drop of oil that is visibly coming out of the engine or underneath the mower. I even walked the rows in my lawn to see if any oil was visible and did not find any.

Garage
Smell the oil for gas. Carb float may be leaking girl diluting oil and burning off and evaporating as oil gets hot

I agree with Gas is getting into oil . Add a shut off to fuel line, shut valve when storing mower . Change oil, and look for pieces of metal .

but gas in the oil still usually causes the engine to smoke since the oil is so thin it seeps past the rings easily. plus usually the oil level gets pretty high eventually which will also cause it to smoke. i know i have worked on a few machines which were overfilled and about 1/2 cup or more of oil or gas over full line and machines start smoking a lot and will sometimes sort of hydrolock when you go to start it up after it has sat for a bit and depending on how over full the crankcase is.
