What the Cranman does in the off snow season.

Greetings friends.....just sharing a picture of the machine I built to control weeds on cranberry bogs. It is an articulated frame with a K46 hydro axle and transmission, 10 hp Tecumseh engine, electric pump to spray Round-up mix on a 9 foot aluminum pipe covered in terrycloth and rotated by a automotive windshield wipe motor to keep it from dripping. The Round-up soaked pipe is raised and lowered with an electric winch. My seat is from a really comfy Craftsman Lawn Tractor. I can wipe an acre of weeds an hour with this girl. The trick is to keep the roller just above the cranberry vines to hit only the weeds.

Garage
wow. great set up.

I worked at Camp Squanto Scout camp back in the 70's at Myles Standish state forest. Lots of bogs around there . We used to tell a horror story at campfires called Charlie Bog Man who used to try to kidnap scouts from their tents.

that story may not be politically correct in 2019

I don't have any contact with the glyphosate in a wipe situation....and I wear gloves if I have to work around the toweling. What scares me is all the corn and wheat and soybeans grown today are from "Round-up Ready " seed and the glyphosate is sprayed onto the food plant, absorbed, and taken into our bodies. Other then growing all our own food....how to avoid being sickened?

If you put the right wheels on it, it looks like it could ride abandoned rail lines!
