Talking Looky what I got on Craigslist!!

Whilst searching for yet more snowblowers (sigh), I came across this beauty that was listed for well over a month. Got it for a song!

She's a 1961 Toro Whirlwind GrassKing (engine dated Jan 1961 from the serial number) with a Wisconsin BKN engine with a rope start. Four hundred and fifty four pounds worth of steel and cast iron goodness

Looks like between this, my Cooper Klipper, and my Cooper Cyclo-Vac 21, I may have to join one of our sister sites! Come spring I plan to chase down a Simplicity Landlord too....

But oooh I LOVE THIS THING!!! Now to get it running and find a sulky....

What a beast! I admire your enthusiasm. I wouldn't have the gumption to tackle something like that.

Beastly for sure. That looks like a real nice restoration project. Are you going to chrome the muffler?

Nah. Just going to set a day aside in the spring and clean it up as best I can, leaving it all original. Matter of fact, I have to do the same with my greasy lookin Ariens machines too....was always of the mindset that the oil protected them, but with everyone having such nicely clean older machines, I figure I better step up to the pump

I'm a darn good mechanic, but I leave things as original as I can

You'd be best posting that one on "http://www.mytractorforum.com/", people on there would go crazy over that one.
