Campaign Ad?

Is it necessary to have a Clinton campaign ad on the forum?

I find this ad very offensive and infringing on my rights.
Can this ad be removed?

It really should be removed considering political topics are against forum rules. Only noticed it today because I can't get app for my ipad

Offensive? Yes.

Infringing on your rights? Not so much. Your at an internet message board that is run for profit. If you read the user agreement you agreed to when you joined, you would know that your going to see ads. Whoever Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd decides is worthy of paying them for ad space is what you'll see.

You have a coupla options. PayJelsoft Enterprises Ltd to go Premium. No ads, I believe. Or, run an ad blocker.

I brought your complaint to the Helpdesk.

We've been down this road before and I can't remember what happened.
I agree if you can't discuss it I don't think it's fair to have them pop up in your face.

It might be an ad that is beyond their control as it's not specific. Meaning the forum gets paid to have "their" ads, not dem or repub but some company and one of the ads that rotate in is a political one.

I'm thinking that was the problem last time. The forum couldn't pick and choose what was shown.

But we'll see.

Hey guys,

Next time you see the ad can you provide me with the ads URL and the page you see the ad on, I can ask to have it removed.

Thank you so much

Careful...I think zedhead said it best. The pop up ads that say I'm with Hilary got me thinking so I asked a question, not to stir the pot, just to get like minded thoughts. Oh man did the pot get stirred!!
I accepted the rules when I joined, and admins have been more than courteous when I've veered away from them. So it's either pay up, or while your reading about cool snowblower stuff, stomach the ads that say join Hillary, down with trump, etc.

The topic is political ads and not specific candidates. If you post something derogatory toward another member or a candidate you will have the post deleted and possibly given a warning or ...

Careful guys, you don't want to get Kiss4aFrog angry now....

Anyway, I think I found the URL the admins were looking for and posted it up under the help desk section, so hopefully no more of those ads.

Everybody needs to keep in mind that we all have things lurking in the background on our computers that keeps track of the stuff we look for and at on the old inter web and tosses up ads that seem to be following our supposed interests. So, some of you may have seen this particular ad because of some other search you had done at one time or another. I keep getting home renovation stuff on my screens because the wife is constantly looking at decorator things and she sees small engine related things because that's what I look for.

Again, hopefully the issue is taken care of.

I'm pretty much retired from the forum thing, but I check in every now and then.
