John Deere 524 idler pulley for drive belt wanted part # PT9701

I need this idler pulley for an older John Deere 524, part number PT9701, it has a 3/8 bolt hole, is about 2 1/2" diameter and failry wide, probably over an inch wide where the belt runs.

Just buy a generic one.

Here are a bunch for sale:
Flat Idlers | Lawn Mower Parts | MFG Supply

And more:
Flat Idlers without Flanges | Lawn Mower Parts | MFG Supply

If you have a Tractor Supply Company nearby they sell them at their retail stores:
Tractor Supply Co. - - Home Page

Any other places locally that sell pulleys, motors, belts, bearings or other industrial stuff should sell pulleys. Also, any lawn mower or snow blower shop should have some on hand as well or at least be able to order some. You don't need the specific one from John Deere, you just need something of approximately the same size.

Please direct all snow blower questions to the forums and not to me with PMs.
