Wink Any MOD that could help me purchase a Yamaha YS828 in Elberta MI

Hello, I live in CT and I am trying to buy a Yamaha YS828 wheel model that is located in Elberta, MI 49628
This is the CL description from the ad (before it was deleted upon purchase agreement):

Selling my Yamaha YS828 snow blower. I'm moving down state and won't need such a heavy-duty machine so I would prefer to not haul it. That being said I'm not going to take a low-ball offer on this either.

This snow blower is a beast. It eats right through most any kind of snow with ease. I've hit chunks of ice and torn them apart without ever losing a shear pin. I had the machine serviced last winter: carburetor cleaned and adjusted, oil changed, new pull cord handle. It starts right up on the 2nd or 3rd pull with no problems. One reverse gear is not working, but hasn't been a major issue.

I have spoken to the owner over the phone (seems like a nice and honest person). I have agreed on the $200 price (which to me seems very reasonable).
I tried to pay him via paypal and arrange shipping so that I don't have to make such a long trip, but he does not have a paypal account.

What I am looking for is preferably a MOD (with a paypal account, so I could send the purchase money) that is willing to help me making the purchase and keeping it at his location until I can arrange shipping (in the worse case scenario I will make the trip).

If I can get the help I need, I will really appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance.

Too far from me. It would be easy enough for the seller to open a Pay Pal account, if they would.

I'm pretty much retired from the forum thing, but I check in every now and then.

I've done long distance money transfers in the past using debit. You can transfer money directly into his bank account and you don't need any of his personal info. Ask at your bank. That still doesn't solve your problem of a place to keep it until you can pick it up, but maybe he could leave it with a trusted neighbor.

Can't say that I know much about them, and I've never used them, but while mailing a package the other day I saw something about Postal Money orders. An option maybe?

Thank you all for the help and sugestions, I send him an email asking him to open a paypal account. We'll see if it works.
Also I am in the process of looking for a shipping carrier, but I need the overall measurements of the blower (I know it would be 28" wide, but need lenght and height) and dry weight. If anyone has a YS828 service manual that info should be there. I have an YS624 service manual and that info indeed is there (for the YS624T).
Thank you for your help everyone.

(FYI, in the past I was lucky to get a YS624T blower shipped from Morton PA to my place of work, CT 06498 for $100 using USHIP, you should consider it if needed).

After watching some of those clowns on UShip on TV (Shipping Wars) I think the UPS guys tossing the TVs around don't look so bad after all.

BUT it is a good option if you have no other and you wouldn't need to crate it.
hsblowersfan, thanks for the suggestion.

My checking account at US Bank has an option to transfer money to someone elses account for a small fee. It says it takes the usual 3 business days like any other ACH transfer. That being said, I can't say I would be comfortable sending money to a complete stranger hoping they would hold an item or giving a complete stranger my own bank account number waiting for them to deposit something.

Are you sure this is a legit sale and not some scam? Your idea of sending the money to someone you trust and having them physically buy it in cash sounds better.

Please direct all snow blower questions to the forums and not to me with PMs.
