8246 Series 6
Headlight, E-Start, Deflector-control, Tire chains
I purchased this snowblower in 2006 when it was 4 years old and barely used for $450. As I understand it these machines sold for around $1200 new. As soon as I got it I added tire chains. This is my main machine and have used this one over a decade now removing snow commercially. This machine is a real workhorse with its Tecumseh HMSK80, 8HP Snowking engine IMO the best line of winter engines ever built! It digs hard and throws snow as far as 50 feet. Snapper was purchased by Simplicity in 2002 and then Briggs & Stratton bought out Simplicity in 2004. As far as I know this design and the last of the real snappers were made and sold in 2004. You can not buy a real snapper machine of this quality any longer.
2002 Snapper 8246 Series 6 (Red&Black)
I added a small scoop shovel to the bucket which was originally not their. However I barely ever need to use that so its more of a showpiece than anything.
