I Got's to Pondering again. How do or did 8 Track tapes work????? was it just 1 song on there or was there more than 1. I was born in the 70's and this being my 46th year closer to the day when I am laid to rest next to the farm fields in the South Dakota county side. I have only seen and heard about them but never played 1.

There were many songs. There were 4 stereo tracks (hence 8 track), allowing you to press a button to switch tracks as a way of changing songs, although you would then hear wherever that track happened to be, mid song or whatever. The whole cartridge was one big long loop and if you didn't do anything, it would play one loop, switch to the next track, and then continue on.

For you, Todd.
I remember cranking up my Craig Powerplay that was hooked up to 4 Jensen triaxial speakers in my 64 chevy. Man those were the days.
