I bought a MINT machine last year and used it only once in a 5" snowfall but the lowest speed seemed way to fast if I had to deal with a heavier snowfall. There is no way the higher gears are good for anything but transport. Can I adjust speed by playing with friction disk as I have done on my other machine? Thanks, away from home but will check this thread in a couple days for response.

I think I see from parts diagram what you mean, I can tighten/loosen the nut of the rod from the back of machine without having to open her up. It's where the cable meets the lever at the housing.

So I backed off (loosened) the nut and it seems to have slowed a tiny bit but I think I still need to shave some speed. Is adjusting the friction disk my only option? Is it even possible to do on this machine? It was on others I owned.

As i recall, there is no adjustment possible to the friction disc. I think you should continue to work on the traction rod's length. You want it to end up closer to the center of the spinning disc that spins when the engine is in neutral - can't remember its exact name !

It sounds like you adjusted the friction wheel tension nut if so put it back. That is just gonna make the friction wheel slip and burn the rubber up fast. Don't make it to tight tho or you will wear stuff out also. Look under the dash you will see a pivot mount on the rod that goes to the shift handle that's the one to adjust. Just make sure the bolts in the middle of the rod are both in place and tight and that the rods not bend from hitting a tail gate or something. Is your model # 924125? They also make a 926 series 11528le but that has a different drive that has the pivot rod on the bottom of the shift rod.

Yes, after watching a YouTube video I realize I backed off the wrong nut, I will put that back in place, thanks. When I get home this weekend I will try to make the adjustment as you suggested, I appreciate the help thanks

I made the adjustment I needed and just need to go for a test spin, even if I can’t before it snows it’s so easy I can do it on the fly during a storm.
