Way too long fo the float pin. I have no idea what it might be. I was just into 10 HP carb and there was nothing on there like that.

Welcome, and I sense that you have this laid out on what appears to be the schematic. (the number in the upper left hand corner)

From the shape, and wear marks, it appears to be some sort of spring retainer, but I've never seen anything of the like on a carburetor. Did you by chance replace the points and condenser?

Its for the choke lever. It adds tension to the lever.
Ah... No wonder I've never seen it. Never had one of them out. I thought it resembled a points cover reatinr clip as db was probably thinking too.

Yes. Nice job.
Makes me want to go look at my blowers that use this old style choke lever and make sure it's in there. I don't remember seeing it.

I can say that my machines don't have that setup. But hey, you learn something new about something old, everyday.
