I just bought a ariens 920025 24" classic, and I was assembling it today and came across a step in the directions that I didnt quite understand (first time homeowner and all that good jazz, only 23 years old still new to this stuff) it wanted me to put what a believe to be oil? Or maybe lube in the center of the auger? Take a look at the picture, any help would be appreciated

The auger gearbox would hopefully not need additional lube just yet, assuming it was lubricated at the factory.

The manual should specify what you're supposed to use there. My 20-year-old Ariens uses their L3 lubricant, I think, but check what yours calls for.

And presumably there is some level that it gets filled to. If it's already at the proper level, then you shouldn't need to do anything.

Page 15 of your manual should have it outlined. How to check the level and what fluid to use. They want you to use Ariens L3 Synthetic Severe Duty Gear Lube.

Or you could use "00" (zero zero) grease. Being that it's new you shouldn't need any. I would however pick up some spare shear pins to have on hand and keep them handy so if you break one half way down the driveway on a snowy morning or night you know exactly what drawer they are in.

Shop around for best price.
