I have an Ariens 926LE snowblower that I'm fixing and I'm replacing the seals in the gearbox. I have the augers and gearbox fully disassembled already (one of the augers was seized - used PB blaster, heat, a hammer, and patience to get that one off), but my issue is with the impeller that is seized to the worm shaft. I assume is rusted on their as was one of the augers on my blower. I've been soaking it with PB blaster for weeks now while heating and hammering it (with a block of wood to prevent mushrooming) and it has yet to budge. I've read that the impeller may be a "press fit" and may be impossible to get off without a large shop press or something else. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what to do here? I could take it to a nearby shop and likely pay $100-150 for them to take it off ($88 just to start) or buy a new impeller and new worm shaft + worm gear which would likely run me $200+.
