Hi you guys this forum is great so many knowledgeable folks I hope someone can help me. I replaced both belts on an Ariens 11528LE and this spring fell out I have no clue where it goes. Everything else is back together. Any help appreciated! Thanks
Looks like the brake spring on the idler braĉket
take off the bottom cover there should be spring on it its the arm the brake pad is on
goog ýour model number and look at the pics
could alo be the spring inside the belt cover

Maybe send another photo of the spring beside a ruler so we can get an idea of size. Aslo post ariens model number and serial number. Did you split the machine in half to get at the auger belt to make sure the belt is on the right side of the brake gizmo?

Took a look at https://parts.ariens.com/
and there are 4 or 5 variants on your machine, depending on age.

It does resemble a tension spring, i have a similar one that applies tension to the idler arm on my Craftsman (Husqvarna).

Awesome, thanks so much to you and everyone who responded. It’s a friends machine not my own but I’ll get over there next week and see if I can get it back on without taking the whole blower housing off.
