I have an older Noma 2 stage, Canadiana series snowblower with a 5 hp Tecumseh engine. Two days ago I changed the auger belt. I seem to have changed it properly because the auger engages when I apply the clutch. After awhile the belt will start smoking. Like I said. all seems good because it works fine for a while. Can someone please advise me as to what I may be doing wrong.:(

Sounds like the auger cable was adjusted for a worn out belt. Now that you have a new belt, you will need to re-adjust to put some slack in the cable.

Did you use an OEM or at least heavy duty power rated belt or did you go to an auto parts store and get the cheapest belt they had? Some belts are not designed for the clutching action and heavy weight of a snowthower belt. The other thing to check is make sure the belt was routed between the pulley and the brake and not over it.
