Hello,

I just used my brand new snowblower for the 1st time and 1/2 way through my driveway, the auger stop spinning when engaged. Engine starts great. I tried using the troubleshooting in the manual but its completely worthless. Does my blower have one of those safety pins that can break and need replacing? Manual makes no mention of it. Any ideas of things I can check before just returning it?

Thanks in advance!

There are many reasons this can happen. Take a couple pix of the machine [auger, belts, etc] and post them, will be much easier to diagnose and help you with pix.

Remove the spark plug, and see if you can turn the impeller with your hand. If you can, then you have probably sheered a "safety pin" in the impeller, and it needs replacing. If both the impeller and auger can be turned by hand, then either you have trashed your gearbox, or broken a belt.

You should still be under warranty if it is a manufacturing defect,. Otherwise get out your tools, and learn how to use them.
