Newbie here. I have an older Simplicity 555 snowthrower. The shear pin broke today so I thought no big deal. I went and bought two bolts/pins. I removed the rock lodged in the auger that caused the problem.

Here is my dilemma. The auger on the left side where the pin broke is still "locked" in, so it doesn't spin freely. The middle piece may still be lodged in the shaft, but it isn't touching the auger so it should spin. I've tried using a hammer and screwdriver to punch out the broken pin...but it doesn't move, so I'm not certain I'm even hitting the broken pin...? Any recommendations on where to go from here? Thanks!

First make sure the pin is exactly lined up and the use some penetrating fluidthen use a punch and hammer, also grease the shaft, there should be a grease fitting on it some where.
