Hi guys, I tried to do a search for this in the forums but didnt find anything. So maybe this will help other people.

The carb on the left is from my ariens and the one on the right is from my craftsman.

Both have tecumseh engines. However the ariens have a much longer choke arm.

I was going to order a new carb from amazon but they dont really talk about the choke arm Length in the description.

Do you guys know why this is not standard across all 8-10 hp tecumseh carbs?

Machine linkage differences, engine differences (differences in HP - H vs HS vs HSSK engine class etc), carb type differences (meaning there's simply more than one type Tecumseh, carb age and application dependent), etc...that'd be my guess.

Take the little screws out of the choke plate, lift the whole assembley out of the carburetor, and put the old choke arm on the new carb.....done!

Hi cran.

Yes your right . There is a tiny screw on the choke plate and the plate can be removed and this let's you remove the rod and choke arm.

Thanks, I didnt know that could be done.
