I was able to get the engine for a Toro 824 I found running, and now I am turning my attention to the transmission. I am an Ariens guy, so Powershift concept seems really cool to me but I am also intimidated by the legit transmission itself (from this thread) vs. the usual friction disc.

Here's a look at the bottom side - the chain cover is broken so it will need a new one. It also looks like a hole in the transmission is weeping grease?

Closeup up the chain and weeping grease. Would motorcycle chain lube and cleaner work for the chain?

SGBlg 43 on the forum has a great video of rebuilding the Powershift tranny.....I watched it and bought the Powershift service manual before I attempted rebuilding any, and it went smoothly. If the gears inside are rusty at all, I used a wire brush on the bench grinder to clean all the shafts, gears and thrust washers , swabbed out the old grease, and reinstalled white lithium grease.
