Freebies are blooming!

Trees leafing, snow evaporating, windows open, shorts on. No exotic freebies yet and not much room for projects. I’ve got 2 mowers to sell so maybe then we’ll see.

It's the same every year.

Freebies are usually tossed to the curb and then snatched by whoever drives that moment.

Advertised freebies, if I like an ad I will offer $20 for the seller to save it for me so I may show up within the hour.

Premium and "like new" blowers are often liquidated, starting now due to home sales, realtors telling homeowners to clean their crap up if they want their $1.2million.

Apply. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

I drove by a 60s Ariens machine today with a free sign on it. There was already somebody looking it over and I didn't have time to wait to see if he was going to take it.
My offer still stands to a board member, minus the 1/2 machine which is gone.

I'm not seeing the freebies yet. I am seeing a bunch of $750 clapped out 24" MTDs. Weed is legal here now so that might explain a few of the ads.

As always, it's all about right place, right time. And I haven't finished any of the last 3 project machines so there is time to wait.

What voltage?
I'm due for a Honda freebie so i can repair and give away. The last giveaway
was at Christmas. People are holding on to their snowblowers
because Cali was threatening to ban new sales.

I tend to steer away from vintage crap because they all always need a ton of work, and have difficulty selling at my ceiling prices to the small audience of fanboys that pay for them. They need to be almost free and no more than a 20 mile drive.

I prefer "like new" units that majority are rated in torque or cc, I give them at just a couple of hours of work, they sell asap right after they are advertised.

That is all I have noticed here - older Sears craftsman models in the $50 to $150 range.

Not many freebies in NE Illinois yet, most machines still have their winter asking prices. I did recently get a 1980 Toro 421 for $10, it has a lot of issues and will become a parts machine. It had been listed for $50 for several months.

Early birthday gift? A couple we know brought over a freebie blower and mower their neighbor wanted gone. They know I can’t resist tinkering projects. I’ll be 77 Monday and need something to keep me from riding my motorcycles every day.

Got one of these today for free, it's in great shape. Just need a carburetor cleanout as it runs poor.

Was on a walk with my Wife today and spotted a 2008ish Compact 24 at the end of the driveway with a free sign. Went to the door and knocked then asked if she could hold it until I came back. The lady said someone was coming to get it, I told her "that's too bad I was going to offer you $100 for it" and I walked away and told her to have a nice day, she had a puzzled look on her face. I always thought "FREE" meant free, must be some kind of catch to freebies these days.:ROFLMAO:
