Greasing the gear box

My MTD 1024 24" says to grease the auger shafts if there are fittings, but there are no fittings. I have one zerk on the gearbox itself. Should I fill this with grease and how much? Any specific grease needed? My manual says nothing about a fitting on the gearbox itself. Would this have been greased at the factory before sending out? The zerk is in the gearbox in the middle.

Can not advise on the Arien gearbox. Other owners will. On Honda gearboxes most have a plug and they take 75-90W oil. Honda augers do not have zerks so I remove the shear pins and see if augers spin freely.

If not , I remove the auger assembly , remove augers from auger tranny shaft and clean up and apply some anti-seize grease on the tranny shafts. Good to go for some time.
