i made decent money selling that snotek last year. i forget what i paid for it but i think i was into it less than $200 including parts and repairs and sold it for $4-500.
I keep track of what Ariens sells replacement buckets for...Pre pandemic you could get a 20" sno tek housing for about $100 or just under...Now that same housing is over $220, and a full size 926 series bucket is over $500....That's just the metal, powder coat, and no decals. I don't know how anyone can profit from selling used blowers nowadays unless they are getting complete machines for free. If a single part is missing, forget about recompense for any value added labor. A 939 Sno Tek 20 used to sell for $499 right off the HD floor

it would be very similar to your 520 except they have a taller bucket. otherwise i believe they are the same. i even think bucket off them would bolt onto the 520. if you wanted to make your 520 a multi speed machine the geared version of of these sno tek machines would be what you want.
There are 939000 series and 920000 series 20 inch sno teks...the 939 is single speed, the 920 is much like an orange 20"compact but I'm unsure if they had autoturn like the compact

I've made $2300 in sales this past winter. Last year I cleared over $3K selling used snow blowers.

How many units did you sell? were the machines 100% complete needing no major parts when they came into your possession?, how many hours of labor per unit (Including time fuel and load rigging for pickup and delivery)?
A single belt is upwards of $40, as is the scrapper bar, or a single control cable at todays replacement rate.

I sell a lot of machines, all are complete ready to run. The 1st two I sold last Oct. I made $750 for the both of them. I had a total of $75 in the pair as the Murray 8hp one was a freebie.

you do need a big shop to store them
Yeah, I hadn't really realized how many PC carcasses I had accumulated over the past 8 years until I had to load them on my trailer to take them for recycling...
