Frozen in time

Finally got around my old machine. The Tecumseh s/n is HM80 155 128H SER 2307D. The 924050 was produced from 1980 to 1991. My s/n gives me a manual printed in 1983 on Operator's Manuals - Ariens. Hence my machine is from 1983-1991. As the bulild date of the engine is 2307, «october year 2», this engine must have been produced in 1982, and fitted on an Ariens later than this. Therfore, my machine is from the year 1983 ❤ 39 years old this year!

Now that we actually have summer also at 69N, I pulled my old Ariens apart.

Out with the old.

Wait for it…

From 8hp to 10hp! New belts installed. I’ll add some rubber flaps to the impeller, and give her new tire tubes when I have her around, so she’ll be fit for the next Winter!

Added the famous auger impeller mod.

Fresh coat of paint, and 2 drilled holes in each impeller blade.

5mm thick rubber, closing the gap with about 8mm. After a test run just one rubber flap was grinded down, so either I measured just right, or I made the flaps too small…

Freshed up the paint, and added some new stickers.
