Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

A low pressure system south of the Maritimes will move slowly northeastward tonight and Monday. Snow heavy at times has started over southern Nova Scotia and it will spread to northern regions later this evening. The snow is forecast to change to a mixture of ice pellets and freezing rain and then to rain overnight tonight or Monday. Snowfall and ice pellet amount of 15 cm are expected with some inland regions possibly receiving higher amounts.
There is a high degree of uncertainty regarding this system, and the public is advised to monitor future forecasts for updated information.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

What you need is a HUGE umbrella, about 10 square acres, planted in your front yard.

Dropped 14 cm of snow and ice pellets on us in Yarmouth on the 19th. Pellets lasted from about 8pm sunday night til 3:30 am Monday. Kept aour accumulation and drifting down. I cleaned my drives last night about the time it changed over There was2-3 inches of ice pellets this morning. It blew well up til mid morning, getting pretty sloppy by that time. Still do able if you avoided standing water. Currently its 6 C degrees and melting at an amazing pace. Hope This is our last for this year.
