Just out of curiosity, I checked to see what our average annual snowfall was in Ankeny, Iowa.
I would have guessed about 50", but it just seems like that much.
It is actually only around 25 inches annually.
Since 1950, the maximum annual snowfall was 60" and the minimum was 6.8".
Do I even need a snowblower, let alone two of them?

The city of Ankeny also had this to say about their snow removal.

"A normal winter consists of 13-15 storm events where city crews plow snow and apply anti-icing materials to city streets. In the winter of 2007-2008 we had 29 storm events."

Maybe I don't have it as bad as it seems. :)

I'm from Toronto and here we get an average of 52" per year. It's still handy to have at least one snowblower. But two snowblowers is overkill for your kind of winter.

I would agree with that comment.
I'm not really a snowblower junkie.
I purchased a new one and am keeping the old one for a while before I sell it or give it away. If the new one doesn't do the job for me, I can still use the 30+ year old one.

I should have typed 35 inches rather than 25.
I also think last year might have pushed our record total to close to 70".

Last winter we must have had at least 60 inches. I remember one time that we had 32 inches on the ground at one time, though it was from two snowfalls.
