I have a 5 yr old HSS724A and the chute recently stopped turning to the right.

I disconnected the connector to the chute turn motor and measured approx 16.3VDC when I moved the joystick either to the left or right.
Then I removed the chute turn motor assembly and hooked it up to the car battery and the motor turned in either direction depending on the battery polarity.

So why does the motor work correctly out of the snow blower but not when it's connected back up???

I cleaned the contacts and the chute is working again!

I followed a video posted by clandrew on how to take apart the joystick and clean the contacts.

Thanks again orangputeh and tabora for pointing me the the right direction!

To think that a 25 cent part could take out a $100 (CDN) part! :D
Someone could make some money selling replacement contacts.
