Quick question for the Hydro Pro owners out there. I received my new Hydro Pro a few weeks ago and the control lever seems tougher to move than I would have expected. I pulled the linkage pin out and the console control is smooth and easy to operate. The stiffness seems to be down at the chassis. It makes a fairly loud rubber on metal squeak when moving the lever.

I have to image that you would want it to be fairly tight to prevent it from independently accelerating or slowing during operation. But is there some adjustment or should I check back with the dealer.

The control "force" is metered by a friction plate on the bell crank pivot towards the bottom of the shift rod near the frame. Loosen this bolted joint slightly to back off the control force. If this joint gets too loose, and you load up the transmission, force feedback from the transmission itself will back your control speed down (it will move the control lever to a slower position).
