It seems the only place it can attach to is #44 either hooking under the bottom or possibly in a hole in 44 that is hidden by that 90° bend.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I appreciate it very much.

Using a mirror I couldn't see any holes or obvious attachment points. Perhaps it is meant to merely float, but that seems a bit odd, especially because it doesn't then put any tension on the other end of the spring connected to the hole on the S lever.

JT,

Thanks for your help. That worked just fine with about a quarter twist. The L shaped end rests on the flat edge of the bracket, #44. In fact, I noticed some of the paint was gone where it had rested previously.

I appreciate your help. The weather in WI is below zero, so it probably won't snow for awhile. In any case, I'll be set.
