I have a Craftsman Model 536 881800 with what I am pretty certain is an 8HP Tec on it. How can I find the specific engine that is on this model, none of the parts breakdowns I find tell me.

Serial number 75461203411CL163
Manufactured: 2004

I need a recoil starter for this. Can I get a little assistance? Either a part number for the starter, engine model number, or something that points me in the right direction.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

You don't have a Craftsman. You have a badged Murray and I'm betting it's a Briggs and Straton engine if it looks like this:

There's a model number on the engine, usually on the flywheel housing. Google that number.

Thanks. Yeah, but it said SNOW KING on it, which is why I thought Tec. But yes, that's it. It's a briggs. It's on my truck, I'll get the engine numbers tomorrow or Wed.

Thanks for the links.
