Hi all!

I'm fairly new to the site, but have been using my Sno Thro for the past 5 winters in Rochester NY. Inherited it from my wife's grandparents who originally bought it back in the early 70s.

I just thought it's time for a new carb rather than a rebuild. It's a 910995 6HP Tecumseh, starts right up but it does need a rebuild. Initially I thought about rebuilding it but decided to buy a new carb off Amazon for 12 dollars and try that first.

So I'm trying to get the old carb off, I understand there's an adapter. I can't seem to find the Philips head screws (2) around the adapter? Also can anyone provide me some guidance on how to remove the choke handle off the old carb?

The new carb's choke handle is the opposite direction, amazon reviews suggested that this was going to be a problem.

Thank you in advance!

HI jtclays,

Appreciate the advice. It appears your pictures that were uploaded don't show?

The 7/16 bolts holding the carb to the adapter are indeed spinning. I read on another forum I could hold it with a flat head but it's a bolt and not a stud so no need to really do that. I'm just trying to get the carb off the motor, I'm just having an issue finding the screws to remove.

I'll give it a shot with the choke lever and see if i can just transfer the old to the new.

When i get home, I'll post a pic of the new carb.

Thanks!
Jack

Thanks again, those pics worked.

Hmm...I don't remember seeing the Phillips on my Tecumseh Carb, I'll take a picture later to reference for you all to see. I'm sure I am just missing it when it's in plain sight.

Hello everyone,

I have the new carb on the blower. Have not had a chance to take pictures, only thing I may have a problem with is the choke lever being reversed.

Before I can put the heater cover back on, I am going to have to fix this somehow. Will post a pic later to show.

Thanks!
Jack
