My son has an old Toro 3521. He just started first time since last winter. Started up fine, runs fine, but has oil coming from under engine. He topped off oil, is there an over flow? Is block crack? Gasket? Thanks

Could be a few things...the seal for the crankshaft, the gaskets need to be replaced, the drain plug isn't tight enough, or yes the block may be cracked however that would lead to a much larger puddle of oil though.

You'll have to investigate further about where it's coming from and maybe post a picture of it so we can see

If he added too much oil it may be coming out the breather hose

Thanks for the replies. I am not able to post picture at this time. To clarify, the oil is coming from under the engine. The bottom plate that the engine is attached to, has a 1/4 inch deep, by 1 inch "groove" that goes under the engine. When the engine is running, there is some air the blows out of it along with oil. Would the breather hose vent out thru there? We are getting 12 inches of snow today and he is not sure if he should risk using it. Thanks again
