Picked this Old Ariens up yesterday. Freebie. Not planning on reviving it. Should be able to salvage some hardware from it. But I may still try to see if I can start it.Any idea when it was sold as new?

That is a rough one for sure.
It is either a 1973 or 74 model, the serial number on the engine tag will give the actual date the engine was manufactured.

Oh yeah. Nuts and bolts rustwelded on. But I got. the electric starter working..... just barely. Never saw a push type choke before.

That is actually the primer, only needed for very cold (-30C) temps. You hold it in while slowly pulling the pull cord a couple times to prime the carb before starting.
It has a regular style choke that works fine without the primer when temps aren't as frigid.

The model and serial number that you have shown is for the front portion (sno thro attachment).
What is the model number and the serial number of the tractor? It is indicated on the back, below the engine, between the 2 wheels.
Also what is the indicated engine HP (6, 7 or 8 HP)?
I ask because I may be interested in one part from this snowblower.
Thanks!
Little bit of compound, some polish and wax it will shine right up again.

The engine looks to be an HM80 8HP
Dang! and I thought the one I've been playing with was a bit rough! And mine might be 10 years older.

This is a picture from many years ago, but if I just put it back together would probably look the same. It has been stored in a dry building so has not aged too much since then.
