She was someone’s pride & Joy onceThat is actually the primer, only needed for very cold (-30C) temps. You hold it in while slowly pulling the pull cord a couple times to prime the carb before starting.
It has a regular style choke that works fine without the primer when temps aren't as frigid.
A long, long time ago for sure. She was someone’s pride & Joy once![]()

The model and serial number that you have shown is for the front portion (sno thro attachment).Picked this Old Ariens up yesterday. Freebie. Not planning on reviving it. Should be able to salvage some hardware from it. But I may still try to see if I can start it.Any idea when it was sold as new?
It is.The engine looks to be an HM80 8HP
I will get back to you.The model and serial number that you have shown is for the front portion (sno thro attachment).
What is the model number and the serial number of the tractor? It is indicated on the back, below the engine, between the 2 wheels.
Also what is the indicated engine HP (6, 7 or 8 HP)?
I ask because I may be interested in one part from this snowblower.
Thanks!
