Hi, I have the same snowblower (gio1101Q ).

It worked fine until it started moving ONLY backwards..
I can't seem to find assistance from the reseller (second hand)..

Can someone please assist in finding out the root of problem.

I can take pictures or video of the machine parts, please..

Pictures of the transmission would be helpful.

I've tried looking up the Gio's before and there is very little info on them.

A more detailed description of how you are shifting it and how it's responding in different shifter positions might be helpful too.

If you aren't feeling any resistance when you're moving the shifter around it might be the linkage has become disconnected from the friction disc and the spring just pulled it all the way to reverse.

I'd start by posting the model number from the data tag(sticker) usually located on the lower left hand side on the chassis.

And of course the brand.

"Giovanni" Snow Blower is the brand :icon-shocked:

The model number starts with "gio". Theirs is a gio1101Q

One thing I just noticed under the "features" was:
"The Continuous-Variable Transmission (CVT) makes changing speeds quick and easy, with low maintenance."

"
That might be their idea of a friction drive but it might be something totally different. Need to see a photo of what's in there.

Definitely looks Chinese.

And looks like the drive speed control is via a cable. So if the cable broke or became disconnected, the speed would go to one extreme or the other... which matches the reported symptom.
