All symptoms pointed to a set of improperly installed augers on a recently "like new" Murray 5/22 I purchased for resale. She was Plowing snow with only traces of snow from her chute, engine running at 3600 rpms and auger belt properly adjusted. I didn't want to believe it came from a store that way, but the PO did mention it never performed up to his expectations. After a complete check, I bit the bullet and yanked the auger assembly out and reversed the augers. Ran like a charm! Got me thinking that a telltale mark or color stripe to indicate right and left would make a lot of sense. MH

There have been advertising photos from the manufacturer with the augers reversed. I'm sure once in a while for whatever reason one makes it out to the street.

This is from an ad for a Husky !!

Not going to be throwing any snow 35' with the augers going that way !!
