I sucked a rug into my snowblower. By the time I realized what I had done, the rug was twisted up in the second stage towards the back of the blower. I heard a whining sound and I could smell something burning. I was able to pull the rug free. However, when I resumed work, It seemed like the burning smell was still present. The blower seemed to work alright, but I just want to see if anyone has any advice on why the smell was still present after the rug was removed? The blower is an Ariens platinum 30 two stage. Thanks in advance for any help!

most likely burned up the belts a bit, Once toast there pretty well on the way out so I would check them to make sure they are not ready to break.

That makes a lot of sense. I'm going to check them. Thanks!

Also check closely for any threads or pieces that might be wrapped around the auger shaft.

I once sucked up a poly rope while doing a friends drive. Bent the auger, warped the bucket.
