Hi. Hm80 Tecumseh. Hole visable under heater box on front engine cover. Looks like an alternative dipstick tube location? Its not threaded. What should I block if off with if need be? Thanks.

Hm80 tecumseh. Looks like alternative dipstick location? Seen on front engine cover below heater box. What should i close it off with if so? Hole is not threaded. Thanks.

If it's not threaded, it's likely not used in your application. How deep is it? Is there a solid bottom? Here's the hole on a new HM80.

Yes, it is an alternate location for a dipstick but if you look closely, you will see it isn't drilled through. Believe You Me, if it was, there would be oil everywhere.

This is what happens when you ask the same question in two different threads... Here is my answer in your other thread.
If it's not threaded, it's likely not used in your application. How deep is it? Is there a solid bottom? Here's the hole on a new HM80.

Put a screwdriver down it, you'll see it's already plugged.

if your able to snip a round piece, like a size of a nickel or so, outta a sheet metal, punch and a hammer, your problem is solved.
