Hey all, bought a battery single stage SnowJoe for minor to medium storms (have the beast of a Honda 11320 for the big stuff). Noticed today, that the SJ has ice and snow sticking to the wheels, which turn to ice and hit the housing, so it's more like pushing a sled than with the wheels actually turning. Suggestions for coating the wheels or upgrading the wheels? Seems like engineering would have designed a little larger gap between the wheels and the housing. BTW, pleased with the SJ for under 6" of wet stuff, but it will never replace the Honda - 9200 ft elevation in Colorado. Thanks! Bob

It's my opinion that a sealed ball bearing rubber wheel would be an improvement, The 18" SS are good performers in those light snows but the plastic wheels are annoying. Probably not worth the upgrade though, these things were designed to get the job done fast and cheap, without the batteries they sold for what $100? Real wheels would improve the ride, but they'd also increase the 35lb weight.

Thanks for your thoughts. Agree that the plastic wheels are annoying. Might look into real wheels next summer. In the meantime, it's been a great machine as long as you have less than 6" of heavy wet snow!

Wrap your tires with some gorilla tape. It’s slick stuff. I use to do it to some of my mowers to prevent grass clippings from bunching up on the tires then coming off like like long green alligators. Might very we work with your snow/ice problem
