No wonder my Ariens Compact 23 seemed doggy in the heavier snow, the WOT RPM was 2600, I changed the setting on the Gov. and it was still only at 3000 RPM so I took out the die grinder where the throttle lever is and cut it further open. Not it's at 3800 RPM give or take 50. Looks like this will be an interesting test come Fri. if we get the snow that is predicted.

2600 rpm . . . . wow ! That is going to seem like a whole new machine.

My compact 24 blew some real heavy wet snow like a big dog today with hardly any bogging down. It still runs a little lean so I will need to address that some day but for now it's a whole new machine like you said. Very happy with the Ariens now.
