Hi, used my 1979 Ariens 924042 for the first time this year and the throttle keeps backing down slowly, is there a way to put more tension on it.
thanks

check the thottle lever to see if the pivot point is riveted or a screw. if it is riveted squeeze/hammer the joint tighter or if its screwed or nut and bolt, tighten it up.

or If the throttle cable runs through a coil metal sleeve, all I did was give a few taps with a hammer to tighten the coil around the cable and provide friction so it wont creep back. just a touch at a time though if you crush it too much its a pain to get it opened up again.

just a couple thoughts, first one would be the proper fix if possible, second is more of a cover than fixing the problem
