I have a recent Ariens with the Carslile X-Trac tires (V-style tread design), and they are set up with the V-design pointing forward from the top view, and, to me, it seams like reversing the tires from right to left, so that the v would point towards you, the tire would provide more grip/bite/friction when trying to go forward.

Is my thinking wrong ? I do realize that Ariens and the tire manufacturer should have thought this one out, but I have my doubts on their logic versus mine. What do you think ?

Just like in a tractor tire, you want the tread design to displace the material it's moving over when they start to slip. This means their current rotation direction is correct.
