Asked before, but no replies. Cleaned carb bowl & nut (jet?). Anything else I can try without removing the carb? It surges - a lot. Thanks

Might just be the way it is or the jet might still be a little plugged. You could try opening the jet slightly with very tiny drill bits or files. Be careful with that approach because once you go too far you can't go back.

Thanks, Shryp. The jet/bolt has a hole going through the shaft. That’s clear. The large flat end has a silver ball in it. Wonder if it would help to replace the jet/bolt? I appreciate the help.

Showing my ignorance, but maybe I’m not even talking about the jet. Found out the part I’m referring to is the “Nut-Bowl, High Speed” Part Number 640301. Sorry if I confused.

In older carbs the bottom nut was also the jet because they were adjustable. In newer carbs the jet screws into the same hole as the bolw nut, but it isn't adjustable and doesn't stick down into the nut.
