While shopping for a used Professional 28 snow blower, I noticed in 2014 they had two different rim and tire width combinations. I also noticed that the chute deflection cable is routed different on various 2014 model year as well.
Was the wider tire an option or a half year design update?
How about the cable?
See pics showing the cable and rim/tire combos. Both are 2014's
I looked at both machines in person. Rims are defiantly wider and the cable mounts are different where the nuts compress and to where the cable ball end fits into. I added a 4th picture and ypu can see the narrower tires.
So it is true. I looked at the parts list on Ariens website.
SN 075000 - 094999 has the choice of either rim/tire.
SN 095000-099999 has 16x6.5-8 rims/tires
SN 100000- 119999 has 16x4.8-8 rims/tires. Also updated cable for chute deflection.
I think the cable reroute was changed because the cable rubs the chute when full turned to the right on machines with an older SN.
The tire/rim combo baffles me. Did Ariens update the auto-turn requiring narrower tires?
