Thats actually a "Snowbird"!
that design was first developed by the "George Tools Div. of Community Industries in Sullivan, Il."
original maker of the snowbird snowblower..
(they originated the phrase "let George do it")
The original snowbirds were first made in the late 50's, then through most of the 60's,
then:
In 1967 Yardman Inc. bought out the George Tools Div. of Community Industries in Sullivan, Il. that made these snowblowers.
Then these snowblowers were then sold as Yardman Snowbird snowblowers.
Then Leisure Group Inc. bought Yardman, then Montgomery Wards bought Yardman.
Then in 1975 MTD bought out Yardman and closed the plant that was producing these units.
quote from the snowbird yahoo group:
SnowBirdSnowblowers : Snow Bird Snowblowers
The original snowbird design continued to be made by yardman until 1975..
then when MTD took over, they dropped the design..
So Snowbird snowblowers were made roughly 1958-1975.
This is a MUCH better machine than later yardman (MTD) offerings, and is completely unrelated to any modern MTD..
which is a good thing!

This snowblower really has no relation to MTD at all..
