Changing my mind?

I am thinking of letting go of my 924122 that is in excellent condition and keeping the 921045 that is still new. (It hasn't even been assembled).I don't feel that the 921045 is the same quality as my older 924122 but I'm getting on in years (72+) and the 924 is a big, heavy machine. I essentially rebuilt the 924 about 3 years ago and it's had little use since then. Anyone feel like sharing their thoughts?

I have the same deal, not with muscling the machines around. Now that I have a Deluxe 30 and Deluxe 28 with my Predator 414cc engine it's time to let my 11528 go as I don't need 3 big machines. I have not used it in 2 years but man that 11528 will blow snow. I am hoping to get $600 for it this winter and ready to go with a paddle mod too boot.

I feel your pain! As above, no snow (SE PA). I took 2 to the scrapyard a few months ago. Still have 2 10,000 series and a Gravely tractor with a 38" blower hanging on the front that hasn't seen real service in years. That being said, I would keep the 924. Every new car I get I wish for the old days when cars were cars! Pete (also 73 years)

You've got me thinking. I have finally decided to keep that new machine and sell my 924122 and I'll assemble that new machine and have it fully prepped for the winter. I'll begin advertising the blower in a couple weeks. It's not a super rare machine but it does have a pretty big engine on it for only a 24" bucket. 11.5 horsepower. It is a bit of a beast.

The condition of your 924 series machine looks to be excellent.
With the 11 HP and 24" bucket combo that Pro machine would be a beast and is definitely not a common model.
It would be a great machine for someone, especially if they are in an area that gets big dumps of snow.

Ok. I have definitely decided to sell this beast. I disassembled it when I purchased it and replaced the auger carrier bearing and replaced the auger bushings which really didn't need replacing. I also installed a homemade impeller kit and cleaned up the paint where it was needed. I'm in South East PA and our winters for the past few years have been fairly mild. However, we are in between two areas where there's a possibility that we could get a 36" snow. I really have no idea what to ask for it. It is a very powerful machine. 11.5 horsepower on a 25" machine. Any helpful advice as to pricing will be most appreciated.

Pricing; market averages for your area by checking local Craigslist and Facebook marketplace listings. Take into account this time of year prices are lower. I would wait until late fall or when the snow starts falling to get top dollar.

You can search all listings for your machine on allofcraigslist org or com ......not sure which. however location plays a big part for pricing. Honda 928 will easily fetch 2k out in my lake Tahoe area while on east coast 1k would be average.

good luck. BTW I would keep the older machine as a back up......I have backups for my back ups.

You and I are kinda sorta neighbors. Last Winter's snowfall was actually substantive, as pictured below. Maybe it tapered off as it approached the Philadelphia region.

From experience, it's such events that finally compel folks to purchase full-size blowers. For yours, figure $1K out of season, if the right buyer comes along. When folks finally get religion on the subject, due to actual snowfall or even just the forecast, consider a $1.5K Ask.

I saw somewhere that the northeast is supposed to be above normal snowfall this season.
But normal has been none. :)
Wait for the big one then put it up for sale?
If we get a big one.
