Iffin' you're a top-tier DIY'er, safety wire is a go-to for all kinds of repairs and fabrication tight spots. For years I've used single loops for breather and fuel line retainers. But, with a ClampTite style tool, safety wire really comes into its own as a fantastic duct tape do-all.

I've always liked the pretty of the name brand ClampTite tool. But, given its price, I just stuck with worm-drive hose clamps. That is, until some fellow on YouTube demonstrated making a clone of the implement using a turnbuckle. Well, I made an example right quick. But, I soon discovered a few annoying things about the clone tool design.

And under the banner of reiterative design and improvement, annoyances can be fixed.
