Make sure all the retaining springs are in place .... i.e., most of the current units draw the continual turning drive plate into the friction drive wheel assembly. (Many older units drew the friction wheel into the drive pulley)

What does your manual say for an adjustment or troubleshoot section? Usually, most of my units sit just off the platter, and the contact is firm and consistent, without extreme pressure or disfiguring the rubber. Sounds like a spring is missing or broke. .... Really hard to assess a problem without inspecting the unit in person.

Should not be an issue, but you may want to check gear placement on the platter .... usually forward is to the left side and reverse to the right side, with close to center low gear and higher gears move out to the edge. You don't want to run off the drive platter (which should have safeguards in place) or operate in dead center, as you will destroy the rubber over time.

 

Troubleshooting indicates drive belt worn ,drive off pulley ,friction wheel
as I said the machine was new when the issue first appeared ,friction wheel was changed about 3 -4 hrs running time ago
I went through the Manual and I see four springs . I would be surprised if they are damaged but it needs confirmed

If the drive belt is off, then check for idler proper tension, as that belt should be always running and with firm tension.
