Hello,

I recently picked up an older Toro 521 that was in need of an engine. I have read through the forums and seen many people re-powering them with the 6.5hp clone/predator so that is what I ordered.

Unfortunately the snow blower did not come with the pulley that is on the crankshaft of the engine. Does anyone know what size diameter I need for this?

It looks as if it takes 2 pulleys. From a search I found this on ebay Toro 421 521 3521 Belt Pulley Engine Sheave Snowblower Predator 6 5HP 43 7370 | eBay but was hoping to just pick up 2 new individual pulleys and save some money.

Thanks!

I just ordered pulleys for a craftsman I am doing a Predator swap. Measure the diameter of the original pulleys. And you need to figure out what size the original belt sizes are. Some use 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 wide belts. Then, see the attached chart to figure out what pulley to order with the belt width. Depending on the belt width, it may set further down in the pulley, thus changing the effective pulley diameter.

Example my auger pulley is 2 3/4in Dia and uses a 1/2in wide belt. So I ordered an AK30x3/4 pulley. The effective diameter with a 1/2in belt is 2.80in, which is pretty close to the 2 3/4 dia of the original pulley.
